In August 2019, PATCHWERK hosted our third annual Summer Youth Outreach Workshop, titled "IMPRINT." We welcomed back student artists from previous years and invited new children from the St. Mary's Children's Home to participate. Over the course of 10 days, our student artists wrote and recorded identity stories based on their dreams, fears, values and hobbies. They also sketched and painted mosaic silhouettes onto fabric tapestries to symbolize their imprint on society. They learned through art and story that their voices not only matter, but also mold their legacies.
At the end of our project, we invited the community to view and purchase the final tapestries. Student artists raised over 500 TTD for themselves and the next PATCHWERK youth project. Check out our program photos below. Click here to watch our storytelling video.
